How about a US Air Force base? The U.S. Air Force is one of the nation’s leading renewable energy purchasers. In 2004, the Air Force accounted for 41% of the government’s total renewable energy purchases. One of the most progressive bases is the Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington State, which recently purchased 100% renewable energy! Way to go Air Force!

NWF Campus Ecology schools are leading the way in renewable energy purchasing and research. Portland State University is working on installing a solar test facility this fall. St. Olaf College in Minnesota just installed a wind turbine on campus that will drastically reduce energy consumption on campus.
