I live in the ever growing state of Florida. When I moved here land was affordable but now developers have raped the land and are charging an arm and leg for one lot. I am trying to get acreage to house horses and develope for wildlife but on a working salary it is impossible. Everyone complains about the growth but when someone tries to slow it down others complain that "we are trying to smother progress" We are losing our wildlife. Birds are leaving because of trees being cut down. Global warming in on us now and it is the rampant over development that is contributing to it. We need to learn from the animals we are trying to protect. The do not need things to prove who they are.

I am amazed, shocked, and horrified at the number of people who flat our refuse to believe that we do in fact have a crisis at hand! Because of this, the point that I try to get across when speaking on the topic is this...no matter what your opinion may be on the issue of global warming, one cannot deny that the way we currently "pollute" the earth is not healthy, and thus the changes that are being suggested by so-called environmentalist are to everyone's benefit anyway.
I would rather take the side of global warming believers now and find out we were wrong later, than to be a non-believer and find out I was wrong. The consequences of the latter are a lot scarier!
Keep up the good work Larry!

I don't know where else to get an answer to my question, so you're it! I got a letter from USDA proposing a change to the Nebraska LRMP to permit using rodenticide in interior prairie dog colonies. I thought they were candidates to be listed as endangered. And they are very near the black footed feret management area.
The 30 day comment period ends soon. It started 9/29/06 but I was gone when the letter first arrived.
Isn't this proposal going to undo the work that has been done to protect these animals? I don't feel I have enough information currently to comment intelligently, but feel that something is deeply wrong here.
Is this another Bush Boondoggle?
