United Nations Climate Conference

Jeremy Symons (quoted in today’s AP story on the conference) is attending the Twelfth Conference of Parties in Nairobi, Kenya where leaders from around the world will negotiate about what to do when the Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012. Jeremy is leading a side event discussing what the outcome of the US election could mean for US reengagement in international climate policy.

In addition to discussing what to do post-Kyoto, the world leaders will address how to incorporate credits for reduced deforestation in the international climate system, and how to deal with the inevitable impacts. Read Global Warming Most Serious Threat Facing Humanity, for a summary of what is going on around the world surrounding the climate conference.
