Here are a couple of items relevant to the global deniers’ mental condition, one by Orwell (via Gore) and the other a comment, by a friend of mine, about a right-wing Republican global-warming denier:

And then when we are finally proved wrong, impudently twisting the facts so as to show that we were right.” — George Orwell (From “Remarks as delivered by former Vice President Al Gore Gaston Hall at Georgetown University Monday, October 18, 2004″)
From my friend, via e-mail: “If D. ever buys into global warming as a phenomena that man is responsible for(I’m about 99.9% sure that’ll never happen), he’ll claim that the democrats have found some way to manipulate the climate to support their argument.”

During the Q & A phase, my son raised his hand and addressed the issue of false information in the media. He told the audience that his mom heard an idiot on the radio deny global warming and turned him off. I had no idea he had noticed my actions. Even kids know the truth when they hear it. Grow up Rush!!!
