Dingell stirs debate over carbon tax

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) this week threw a new wrinkle into the debate over how the United States should respond to global warming with a proposal to create a new tax aimed at fossil fuels and large homes.   NWF is particularly pleased that the bill dedicates some of the new tax revenue for wildlife conservation.  We look forward to assessments of how the bill meets our 2% annual emission reduction goal and how it fits with the rest of his global warming package which will include cap-and-trade legislation.    Check out the story here.
