from Wildlife Promise
A quick roundup of morning news on the Gulf Coast oil spill:
As the Associated Press reports, the things are going from bad to worse along the Gulf Coast, as more oil continues to spill in deteriorating weather conditions.
The New York Times has an excellent graphic detailing the species that could be impacted by the spill. It includes the brown pelican, the state bird of Louisiana that was recently taken off the endangered species list & just began breeding in the area.
NASA’s Earth Observatory has released new images of the spill
Larry Schweiger, president & CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, will be heading to the Gulf Coast this weekend to get a look at the unfolding disaster firsthand. Sign up at the “subscribe” box in the upper right corner of this page to get updates emailed to you.
