Dirty Fuels Pipeline Feels Heat After Pressure from NWF and Partners

We did it! The State Department is listening and took a step back today from it's rush to build this unsafe 2,000 mile pipeline across six states. This is thanks to the hard work from NWF members and partners.

Adding to the pressure, today NWF released a report on the dangers of tar sands to heartland state economies and wildlife, as well to the climate and to Canada's ecosystems.  Below is the email we just got from the government announcing the delay/extension of the comment period. We now have more time to act and there's much more to do, but it's working! Do your part. Take action now!

The public comment period for the Keystone XL Pipeline Project will be extended to July 2.  The State Department will host additional public comment meetings in Houston, on June 18, and in Washington, D.C., on June 29.  The Federal Register notice was filed today, and should be published on Monday or Tuesday.
