Quick Tuesday Morning Oil Disaster Update

It’s a busy Tuesday morning here at National Wildlife Federation’s National Advocacy Center in Washington, DC, but I wanted to pass along a few things fast:

• Yesterday’s planned trip on Chandeleur Sound to get water samples from those mysterious discolorations was postponed by thunderstorms. But a National Wildlife Federation team was able to get out this morning & is on the water as I type.
• University of South Florida scientists say government officials tried to silence them over their reports of subsurface oil plumes, according the St. Petersburg Times.
• Blue crabs continue providing evidence oil is tainting the Gulf’s food chain, reports the Associated Press.
