The National Wildlife Federation, Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension Program, and the Landowners Initiative for Forestry Education (LIFE) have partnered to host a landowners’ workshop titled “Managing Your Land for Profit.”

This event that will be targeting small, minority and limited resource forest landowners will be held on November 16, 2010 in Talbotton, Georgia at the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Session topics will include:

  • Hunting Leases
  • Wills and Estate Planning
  • Timber Management and Marketing
  • Timber Sales for Maximizing Profits
  • Cost Share Programs For Landowners
  • Land Surveying and Property Boundary Lines

The goal of the workshop is to educate landowners about management strategies that will maximize forest productivity.  A range of topics, including wills and estate planning; cost share programs; longleaf pine restoration and compatible income opportunities; timber management and marketing will be discussed.
