Working at Rainier, saw a Gray Jay holding something white, what I thought was a piece of acquired chicken. Then discovered it was a discarded piece of chewed bubble gum. As I tried to get it to drop the gum, it flicked the tremendous wad into the air and gulped it down. I can't imagine it could have lived much longer. The experience made me realize the reach of human trash.
