Jacque Costeau said...in the l970s...if we do not take care of our oceans, we will destroy our Planet. (paraphrased) At the time I thought it was a radical statement because there was no "news" about pollution of oceans and we thought...after all...these are OCEANS, for pete's sake. How could we POSSIBLY pollute such a vast area of the Earth? Well the man was right on. He knew that the probability was great that mankind COULD and WOULD manage to upset Nature. The Earth is groaning in pain.

This was posted in April. It does not say what AREA of the Gulf. The baby sea turtles that just hatched in Santa Rosa Beach are alive and well. Have already made it to the Gulf according to turtle watch volunteers. But yes, the dolphin mothers were in gestation at the TIME OF THE SPILL...their babies were prematurely born...thus the high mortality rate. Well that is what I heard from various scientific circles. Is it true? Who knows.
