A water feature can be the single most inviting reason wildlife will visit your yard and is important to regularly clean the water container( be it a birdbath or a shallow pan!) Regularly so that bacteria isn't spread. Also monitor for mosquitos. West Nile Virus is spread by infected breeding females and can be deadly to some species of animals and birds( as well as to people!).

A water feature can be the single most attractive part of a yard, buy it's really important to regularly clean the container ( bird bath or s simple 1 1/2" pan!) So as to not spread bacteria. Also, monitor for mosquitos for West Nile virus is spread by breeding females. Mosquitoes dunks which prevent mosquito larvae from hatching are very inexpensive. Better yet, empty the water daily.
