I'm glad the sportsmen care about the winter habitats of other creatures...but not all of us want to kill them; some of us want them to survive for the natural biodiversity the health of the earth requires, for all of life to continue a few more eons.

Seriously? These people aren't conservationists - at all. Were they there demanding BP clean up its mess simply because it's the right thing to do, or because IF the mess were cleaned up, it would ensure they would have more animals to blow up for target practice each autumn or to rip them from the water so they can be asphyxiated for "dinner" that night? Hmm...let's think about that very carefully, shall we?

I resent the fact that too many organizations professing pro-wildlife/conservation positions are "buddied up" to people/entities like this whose objectives aren't conservation, it's selective preservation for the purpose of continued blood sports and that's saying it like it is, ladies and gentlemen. Why pander to these groups? We're sending the WRONG message to the public and it's time for our species to face the consequences of our collective actions and stop coddling the irresponsible and selfish among us or else we will have damaged the Earth irreparably with our profit and consumption driven lives.
