Wow! What an amazing story. I think it's wonderful, the way you saved the life of that beautiful Humpback Whale. There's no doubt in my mind that his life was in immediate danger. At times, the whale almost seemed to be aware that you were trying to help him. And, once you freed him from the net, I believe that his magnificent display was to show his appreciation. He even seemed to be waving "goodbye", with his tail fluke. Thank you, for saving the life of this majestic creature. The world needs more heroes like you˚♥*

I am so pleased that all turned out for the best in this case. This situation could have ended much more poorly for both the animal and the people who's hearts were in the right place. Disentangling large whales at sea is a very dangerous task and should only be undertaken by those who've been trained to do so. There have been several instances around the world where well-meaning individuals have been hurt and even killed by the animal they were attempting to save. For these reasons, and others, disentangling whales is tightly regulated in US waters and is becoming so in other countries' waters as well. Should you ever encounter an entangled marine mammal the best thing you can do is photo or video document as best as you are able, notify the proper authorities (in US waters, the Coast Guard is the best place to start), and stand by the animal until you are relieved or instructed otherwise.

I'm in tears. Thank you for being there to save that magnificent creature as it surely would have drowned. You certainly did save it's life. I hope your video goes viral for all to see.

An amazing story for us all - the people on board (with children who will be changed, I bet forever, by the experience), those who see the video and are inspired to know there are moments in time when they can make a difference, and, of course, the whale!
