Hi,
I haven't been here before, I was researching salt damage after cyclone / hurricane events, & stumbled over this site.
I can see you guys are Hurricane survivors. I am a Cyclone survivor .... Yasi last year & Larry 6 years ago. I'm also a wildlife & general animal lover .... a vet nurse to boot !

Our humble abode is rapidly rusting after Yasi ... it's a steel framed place. I am wondering if any of you have had rust problems with any steel in your homes ?
Even our bird feeder has gone rusty !
If any of you have the same problem & can tell me your stories, &, or can give me some good sites that document salt damaging inland structures .... I would be extremely grateful for any help. My email addy is cwcarolync@gmail.com

I hope it's ok to post my email addy here. BIG apologies if this isn't allowed.

Cheers Carolyn in Innisfail, Far North Qld., Australia.

I have noticed a sharp decline in visitors to my bird feeder since the hurricane hit. The red bellied woodpecker hasn't been seen since nor have the squirrels. I haven't seen a squirrel in weeks. We used to have 4-5 who visited regularly to rob the feeder. I am concerned. Did they just move or die?
