		<description><![CDATA[Joe, Thanks for the excellent post!  I have been hearing that the ice is already out in Maine, a month earlier than ever recorded.  Our go-to destination in New Hampshire was Occom Pond.  Nothing matches the feeling of freedom I had with a hockey stick in hand on open ice.  Growing up in New Hampshire, spending time outside was a year-round event.   Wonder Bread bags doubled as boot liners to fend off the main barrier to a day in the snow:  wet feet.  We felt like a rough bunch with team snowball wars fought amidst elaborate snow forts, but I suspect we look like a pack of lost penguins marching around in our snow suits.]]></description>
