Barbara--How cool you have some frogs as well. I am not sure how to solve the mosquito issue. I just have accepted that my frog pond is a mosquito pond some of the year. Lots of critters eat the mosquitoes, so I rationalize it's good for the ecosystem. It would be pretty easy to scoop the mosquito larva out with a fish net or something similar.

Thanks for the great video...what fun!

We get a lot of the Pacific Chorus Frogs. Five of them are already hanging out right now in the corner of the back porch under the eave. First day this year that they have done that. They line up almost on top of each other! Last year we have about 15 of them hanging around. I am worried that I might have tossed out some standing water that they laid eggs in. Do you have any suggestions on a good standing water source that won't become a breeding ground for mosquitoes? Thanks, Barbara

The Pacific Chorus frog doesn't live that far east. But you have an Illinois Chorus frog and Spring Peepers--they are loud as well. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has a good site of your state frog species with audio of their calls to help you identify. Happy frog watching (and listening!) http://www.dnr.state.il.us/education/frog/index.htm
