You are so right, doc! The only way to preserve our wildlife, our communities and our life-giving environment is to protect it from this kind of destruction and devastation to begin with. But having said that, BP still must pay dearly to try to restore the damage they have done and to compensate people for the massive damages they have suffered, to their health, their economy, their communities and the Gulf ecosystem. Until CEOs, like Hayward and others, go to jail, not much will change, I fear.

HOW MANY OIL STORAGE TANKS ARE SITTING OUT IN FIELDS JUST LEAKING AWAY.WITH A SIGN THAT SAYS PRIVATE PROPERTY- NO TRASSPASSING.
STOP AND TAKE A WALK- “YOU’LL HAVE NIGHTMARES WITH WHAT YOU WILL FIND.”
THE OLD CLOSED DOWN GAS STATIONS THAT WERE ON EVERY OTHER BLOCK IN SMALL TOWNS- WELL WHAT DO YOU THINK?????? THEIR GAS UNDERGROUND TANKS ARE STILL THERE-LEAKING INTO THE UNDERGROUND WATER SYSTEM. IN SOME AREAS THEY JUST BUILD HOMES ON TOP- TEN YEARS FROM NOW, WHAT DO THINK!!!!! THOSE CHILDREN WILL BE DYING OF CANCER.

First, BP can’t make this right, they can only try to make it less impactful. It will take hundreds of years for this ecosystem to get close to healing itself biologically and then it will have been forever changed. Research Prince William Sound in Alaska from 1989. You can’t just throw money at oil spills and make it right. The only cure is to stop using oil completely. We have the technology, but the trillions that oil companies have stolen from us has bought our government. Drill baby drill you damn crooks.
