In the following days, weeks, months and years, it became clear that the spill was one of the worst environmental disasters of all time. Not just for the devastation it caused for the sensitive habitat for sea otters, seals, and seabirds, but because the United States did not heed the wake-up call we received: we are still pursuing dirty fossil-fuel extraction in the most sensitive places, at a high price for our climate, our health, and our air, water and wildlife. Prime examples include the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as proposals to move dirty tar sands fuel through the Keystone XL pipeline and drilling by Shell Oil in the Arctic Ocean.
If we don't evolve consciously to live and truly breath in all moments the oneness of this magnificent life and planet that we live... this illusions of indifference towards each other and the planet will continue.. till they can't. We all know that there is great enduring corruption in this government.. but ironically we keep supporting their insidious endeavors through our money. I ask all of you to stand firm in truth and the light beyond religious ideas and concepts and view these 2 great movies: Freedom to Fascism and Zeitgeist Addendum. Highly soul-stirring docs. Also.. taking time to inquire within your own mind to free yourself from your own misunderstandings of the divine within. Asking yourself sincerely with determination "Who am I?" sounds simple? try to devote yourself to this method of self-analyzation and you will start to see the conditionings that we hold deep within our personaiities.
I agree--how many accidents are there going to be before we raise up in arms and say "No More"! Oil and gas energy are still polluting the atmosphere, as well as our earth. We should demand that these companies more of their money on alternate forms of energy, LESS on oil!
