If the gets developed, it should be done by Cheyennes creating their own coal company if feasible. Dont't get ripped off by big corporations, give the tribal members an opportunity to work and profit for themselves. They could end poverty on their rez, maybe even build a new clean coal powerplant of their own. The profits, from power and coal are huge. Every tribal member could be well off, maybe a monthly percap check like other tribes. I dont know all the facts, this is just an idea, and i am an enrolled member of the tribe.

To Develop Coal or Not? to one is development but to the people living there is the lost of their way of life. Shouldn't a Government defend minorities from money makers? Those who want to extract coal will leave one second after the last piece of coal has been extract. They don't care what is left behind. They can go home, breath the filtrated air they have and be just fine.
