true that there are some alligators in the Central Wetlands today (and folks have even spied otters!), particularly since
the closure of the MRGO channel in 2009--but nothing like what we would see if we truly
restored the area.  And of course there are a lot of additional reasons for
restoration of the MRGO ecosystem—like enhanced flood protection for the Greater New Orleans area, increased resiliency to erosion, subsidence, and sea level rise, and job creation.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Believe it or not, I&#039;ve seen mature alligators along Bayou Bienvenue just in the past 12 months, a few near Paris Rd, and another 4 footer right by the pumping station where Bayou Bienvenue begins. The individuals closer to Paris road were at least 5 feet in length. ]]></description>
