NWF’s Fellowship Program – Deadline Extended to 5/14

The application deadline for the 2014 NWF Emerging Leaders Fellowships has been extended to Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Apply and learn more here: www.nwf.org/fellows

Since 2000, National Wildlife Federation has awarded more than 170 Fellowships to students across the country through the Campus Ecology Fellowship Program. Students have come from 119 schools in 37 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and the program continues to grow. The Fellows work on projects ranging from campus-wide energy audits to implementing sustainable forestry practices, and have reached more than 2.5 million students, faculty, staff and community members at the fellowship campuses.

Last year, the program expanded to provide fellowship opportunities not only to current students, but also to post-graduate, young professionals (ages 21-35) interested in career development and leadership opportunities within the conservation movement. The full program, incorporating both student and young professional tracks, is the NWF Emerging Leader Fellowship Program.

Reflecting on her Fellowship experience thus far, Ruby Lyon, a 2013/14 Emerging Leader Fellow, had this to say regarding her work greening urban cultures in South East, D.C.:

I am truly happy to have my fellowship…my hope has been, and continues to be, that any one of these Paw Print experiences might be the spark that changes a child’s life in a positive way. There is no question that this experience has driven me to apply to graduate school in hopes of cultivating a job where I can do this sort of work.

Interested applicants are invited to submit project ideas. TO APPLY, visit www.nwf.org/fellows. Applications are due May 14th, 2014.
