Cheryl Molennor snapped a shot of this great blue heron with its catch by Anclote Pier in Florida. She later noticed that the fish looked like it had an alarmed expression.

So far, four chicks have hatched and the fifth and final one could happen at any moment!

This is a rare glimpse into the lives of herons. Join us in watching the action unfold!

There’s also a second camera in the nest, which offers a different vantage point.

The bird can be found as far north as Canada and as far south as South America. This one was visiting Reston, VA when one of our staff members, Nancy Ostertag, was able to get some video footage.
