Electric Eels and Oil Spills

Electric eels are native to the Amazon and Orinoco River basins in South America, and fortunately are not one of the species that will be impacted by the BP Oil Spill.  I did, however, bring an electric eel (among some other cool wildlife) for my monthly appearance on the Today Show.  So what’s the oil spill connection?

As much fun as it is to share amazing animals like the electric eel with Kathie Lee and Hoda, this time around I wanted to make sure I used the opportunity to let the millions of viewers know about the ongoing devastation that the BP Oil Spill is inflicting on the wildlife in the Gulf of Mexico and what people can do to help.
