Steve is senior policy and communications manager for NWF’s Montana-based Northern Rockies and Pacific Regional Center, where works on bison restoration and a variety of public land-and-resource issues. Steve joined NWF in 2013 after a 30-year career in journalism, much of it dedicated to natural resource policy and environmental issues in the West. Steve is co-author of “Montana Wilderness: Discovering the Heritage” and a contributor to two anthologies, most recently “Science Next: Innovation for the Common Good from the Center for American Progress.” He’s an avid outdoorsman and rides his horse, Ranger, nearly 1,000 mountain-trail miles a year.
