We have much more to do and your continued support is needed now more than ever.
If they can do it…
When you think of what types of companies and organizations might be going carbon neutral, what do you think of? Environmental non-profits? Small businesses in Vermont and California? How about a US Air Force base? The U.S. Air Force is one of the nation’s leading renewable energy purchasers. In 2004, the Air Force accounted for 41% of the government’s total renewable energy purchases. One of the most progressive bases is the Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington State, which recently purchased 100% renewable energy! Way to go Air Force!
NWF Campus Ecology schools are leading the way in renewable energy purchasing and research. Portland State University is working on installing a solar test facility this fall. St. Olaf College in Minnesota just installed a wind turbine on campus that will drastically reduce energy consumption on campus.
