Emily Guidry Schatzel is the communications manager for NWF’s Mississippi River Delta Restoration program and a native of Houma in coastal Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. She works with NWF’s Louisiana and Gulf teams to increase awareness about the delta’s rapidly eroding wetlands and the need for comprehensive restoration following decades of river mismanagement and, most recently, the 2010 Gulf oil disaster. She holds a J.D. and a Master’s in Communications from Loyola University New Orleans and lives with her husband, their new daughter and three incredible dogs.
