Bernie Madoff and Global Warming?

In his testimony today before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment, former Vice President Al Gore compared people who take their science advice from global warming deniers to people who took their financial advice from Bernie Madoff. Isn’t that an apt analogy?
