Hawaii Passes Law to Cap Emissions at 1990 Levels

Hawaii
With the passage of the Global Warming Solutions Act of
2007,
Hawaii became
the second state in the country to cap greenhouse gas emissions. The measure received bipartisan support in
both the house and senate. Under the
measure, the state can reduce greenhouse gases in various ways, such as
increasing the use of renewable power sources and putting more hybrids on the
