Report: One in Ten Species In Danger

A new report from the Australian Biological Resources Study calculates that nearly one in 10 species worldwide is threatened with extinction by effects such as climate change and loss of habitat.

"The Number of Living Species in Australia and the World" cites tens of thousands of animals endangered or close to extinction, including more than 20 percent of all known mammals, 12 percent of birds, and 29 percent of amphibians.
