Celebrating 10 Years of Eco-Schools USA

What a decade! Over the last 10 years, shared stories of success from students and educators have highlighted the positive impacts from the National Wildlife Federation’s Eco-Schools USA program. Beyond the metrics that evidence substantial cost and carbon savings, along with beneficial academic outcomes and creation of new wildlife habitat, each school has a story that demonstrates how weaving environmental literacy into the curriculum and student experience supports student leadership and positive outcomes for the planet.

As we begin to wrap up the Eco-Schools USA 10 year celebration, and look toward the next 10 years and beyond, take a minute to absorb our story through our Eco-Schools USA timeline, which celebrates program milestones over the last decade and shares the impact of our work across the country.  But before you do, we challenge you to take this simple quiz to see how much you really know about Eco-Schools USA!

The education programs of the National Wildlife Federation work collaboratively across the nation to serve through our mission: “Uniting all Americans to ensure wildlife thrive in a rapidly changing world.”

Whether its creating more resilient schoolyards as part of the Schoolyard Habitat® program or taking action to protect waterways using the Eco-Schools WOW – Watersheds, Oceans & Wetlands Pathways, the National Wildlife Federation’s education programs nationwide are having a positive impact for wildlife.
