PaLast month, the EPA put out a list of the Top 10 College and University Green Power Partners. These are schools replacing significant portions of the electricity they use with green power. Campuses across the country are buying green power to reduce carbon emissions and help the environment, and one of the state’s that is leading the way is Pennsylvania. The University of Pennsylvania came in as the number one college or university partner. U. Penn also came in 8th of overall businesses, beating out such companies as The World Bank and IBM. But that’s not all; the great state of Pennsylvania has other notable green campuses:  Penn State came in 8th in the campus race. Combined, Penn State and the U. Penn generate 129,600 MWh of green power each school year!
