Wildlife Alert: 100 Members of Congress and Counting!

More than 100 Members of Congress are cosponsors of the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (H.R. 4647). Check the list below to see if your Representative is one of them. If not, ask her or him to join the club of Wildlife Champions!

America’s wildlife are in crisis. From migratory birds, to bees and butterflies, to frogs and salamanders, bats, tortoises. freshwater mussels and everything in between – once abundant populations of our nation’s most diverse fish and wildlife species are now facing steep declines due to habitat loss, disease, and other threats.

But, we have good news! The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act would use existing funds to support state fish and wildlife agencies to implement on-the-ground actions to conserve at-risk wildlife and the habitats they rely on. This idea has actual bipartisan support from Congress, with 100+ members from both side of the aisle supporting this common-sense solution.

How do we know this works? Each state and territory have created a State Wildlife Action Plan that provides a blueprint for its conservation efforts. These plans were created with input from local communities and stakeholders, and have been crucial to preventing species like the Tule Elk, New England Cottontail, Brook Trout, and Mountain Plover from becoming endangered.

America has a proud history of coming together to bring our vulnerable fish and wildlife back from the brink. The crisis facing our nation’s wildlife is daunting, but the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act offers a solution that meets the magnitude of the challenge.

Check below to see if your Representative is on the list of cosponsors, and if they aren’t, ask them to stand up for our Nation’s cherished wildlife by supporting this important legislation.
