The National Wildlife Federation is joining forces again with LG Electronics (LG) on their ongoing campaign to highlight vulnerable and endangered species. This summer, LG’s Time Square display spotlights the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl (Glaucidium brasilianum cactorum).

The cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl is listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. It is a smaller owl, standing 6-inches tall with cinnamon to grayish brown feather, which can be found in southern Arizona and Texas in the U.S., and Mexico. The threats facing this little owl include habitat loss and fragmentation due to invasive species, urbanization, and climate change.
