Time to Stand Up for a Special Wild Place
Some of America’s most iconic wildlife and fish, including polar bears, grizzly bears, muskoxen, caribou, and hundreds of thousands of birds from around the globe, live in or annually migrate through the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s Coastal Plain. The Refuge is truly the crown jewel of the Refuge system, and an important piece of our public lands system. Many bird species that can be found at wildlife refuges around the country annually migrate to the Refuge to nest and raise their young before migrating south.
And now, this incredible place and all of the wildlife living there are under attack. The Senate just took the first steps to allow drilling in the Refuge. We have to stop this before it’s too late. Some places are too special to drill, and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of them!
Congress Can Protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Some in Congress are trying to undermine 30 years of protection for the Refuge. But our public lands are the heritage of all Americans, and the wilderness, wildlife, and recreation found within the Refuge are incomparable. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of the world’s most beautiful and unspoiled landscapes, like other American treasures such as the Grand Canyon and Yosemite.
